Derick is lives in Zirobwe, Uganda with his single mom. His father died when he was younger and Derick's mother struggles to provide for his school fees and basic needs. Their main source of income is farming, which mostly provides daily food for the family, with little left over to sell for other basic needs. Despite the challenges Derick is a very smart student in need of a boarding school sponsorship so he can focus more on his academics. His favorite subject in school is English. During his free time he enjoys playing football. Derick's dream is to become a doctor when he finishes school.
