Shakira lives in Mukono, Uganda with her mother and siblings. Her mother lost their land when Shakira's father died when she was young. Her mother has been working in other people`s farms to earn a little income for the family's very basic needs. Shakira has two special needs siblings, the mother has to make time to take care of them, this makes it hard for the mother to go out and work sometimes. Shakira was lucky to be taken on by her aunt when her father passed on. Shakira`s aunt provided her with the school fees and all the other requirements needed for school, unfornately she lost her job during the pandemic. Shakira only has a few years left to complete high school.
