Lydia is from the village of Luwero with her family. Her parents are peasant farmers and do not own their own land. They have to beg from neighbors to use a portion of their land to grow crops for their family. Her aunt brought her to live with her but struggles to put her through school due to her own family responsibilities. Despite all her struggles Lydia believe education is the key to her success in life. Lydia's favorite subject in school is Math. She enjoys reading books in her free time. She wants to become a accountant when she finishes high school.
