Betty lives with her parents and siblings in the village of ZIrobwe, Uganda. Her parents do not own their land and her father earns an income from working on other people's gardens. This income is usually minimal and it's hard to cater for the family's basic needs and educational needs of the children. Betty will be able to join preschool if she receives a sponsor and begin school on time. Early childhood education is a key to a child's success in school in their future. In her free time Betty enjoys playing dodgeball with other children in her community. She dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up.
